    Who makes 'em?

I have no problem with it. It is clear that it is a private issue token, and not a legal tender Morgan Dollar. Same thing with the Daniel Carr tokens. If someone is gullible enough to buy an 1888CC dollar, and think that they are getting a US Mint issue needs to educate themselves more on the Morgan series before purchasing them.

Yes, I was as well, that's what prompted my post. They are being marketed by MCM...don't know where they are stamped.

I don't have one iota of problem with these. They clearly have a duel date, so no coin collector will ever misinterpret them. I wold imagine they have a copy stamp on the reverse.

Does the old CC mint ever make tokens? What I mean is...I thought I saw something that the old press was fired up and minted some "coins." Anyone?

Are they made out of silver? And it is surprising to see NGC slab them. Interesting piece but not into collecting them.

The Nevada state museum owns and operates the old #1 press. I have not heard if they are producing such items. Most of the time they use it for medals that pertain to state events.
Another piece of over priced junk to confuse new collectors . Thinking these may increase in value when most likely they won't be worth no more then melt.

Why? NGC likes $$$$$........why would they care as long as they get paid. Next you'll see green beans on them. That way you'll know it's certified junk .:)

I love how MCM starts it out.

Announcer 1 "you would expect to have to pay $800 fir such a fine collectible"
Announcer 2 "Only $800, oh yeah, I would think all of that for such a rare piece"

I saw them pimping Star Wars plastic toys with a few crappy colorized coins inside the other day. I just shake my head. Oh well, as long as it's someone else's money.

Holy Mackerel is right..... my $200.00 will go for a real piece of numismatics not something like this..... and to think they don't even need a gun....think about that!

So what exactly is NGC certifying? That it is a genuine fake? This is just stupid. I would be embarrassed to turn this in for scrap silver. I'd have to make up some excuse like "I got it as part of a trade" or "I won it as a door prize at a show".

$200 would buy a nice 1883 CC (the real thing)...or about 9.36 30 packs of Bud Light including tax.
