1992 double die penny or not????

    I have this 92 penny that what appears to be doubling of some kind hopefully someone can enlighten me IMG_20151003_041826509.jpg

    Better, straight on. in focus and well cropped photos are needed, but I would call it split plate doubling. A very common occurrence. It's an ordinary cent, nothing even remotely special.

    Right but can I see it u really can't tell from this photo I had better photos then lost them that I took when the sun was up

    It's split plate doubling. Sometimes, when the die hits that planchet, the copper plating moves at a different rate than the zinc core, causing the copper plate to break and split. This is a common occurrence. On your coin, the zinc core can be seen in the split. It's not due to a mint error and does not add to, but detracts from, any numismatic value.

    As you asked, I'm trying to enlighten you.

    Is there any known 92 dd? I felt very strongly about it took it to a coin shop and they said it was double die. Not prominent enough to be any value. My honest opinion they are to cheap to wanna buy anything. I'm just trying to give myself a new hobby.

    You need to post pictures. And the correct numismatic terminology is actually Doubled Die.. not double die nor died
