Well, it os obviously DDR; as far as it matching the discovery coin, no, it does not match but maybe it is a new variety or has the same characteristics but not as strong of doubling. If you see the word STATES, notice that the A and the E and the S all have doubled die. E. PLURIBUS UNUM has doubling; I am just having trouble showing you. Th coin seems to have reverse doubling to that of the discovery coin. Thanks for all of your information
Regardless of whether it matches the discovery coin, I feel this coin can be respected for a DDR; I dont think I can deny the fact. I just believe it has a different doubling.
Also, in my picture, you cant tell me the second U in unum is not doubled. Try looking a little to the left of the U and you can see the split.
Hi Mikey. There are many types of doubling. From the images you posted, yours is not a true doubled die. It looks to be what's called MD.
Not seeing any DD here either... Maybe machine doubling. Even if you think it is a DDR,the coin community will not recognize it as one unless it truly is one. Some good reads on this..... https://www.google.com/search?q=die...2uqymyAIVi3Y-Ch3Bcw_1&dpr=1.45#q=doubled+dies
