Half dollar sized, octagonal. Obverse places the business in Santa Maria, CA. I checked my US Trade Token catalog (4th edition) and didn't find these listed (although there was a billiard token c1890 from Santa Maria, CA for a different place). Are the pieces I have pioneer pieces? Or has this been ID'ed before? And does anyone know their approximate age or value?
It looks like a 10c token is known, confirming my hunch that this was a billiard hall token: http://tokencatalog.com/token_recor...25162&attribution_id=274553&td_create_uid=313
Kappen's single volume reference on California tokens lists your token, as well as other Jessee Bros. tokens. He lists 10 Jessee Bros. tokens, 8-10c & 2-12 1/2c. Your token is number 55 in the Santa Maria listings, near the tail end of the Jessee Bros. listings. This 1976 reference lists the value at $2.75. Another of their other tokens advertised Bohemian, so they likely sold liquid refreshments as well. Another token, in small letters, displays L.A. Rub. Stamp Co., most likely the manufacturer. I did not find any year information, but it must be at least 40 years old to have been listed in a 39 year old book.
