This 1776 Fugio Cent has been in my family for like 150 years. I think it is counterfeiit because there is a little tab at the end. But, now that I think about it, it could be an error in making the coin. Please tell me if it is counterfeit.

Welcome aboard, zrkoz. That is definitely a forgery - of the Continental Dollar pattern coin, not the Fugio Cent!

Look at the soapy colour. That is the first sign that it is a dud.

When in doubt, try getting it slabbed.
If your family really had it for 150 years there is always the possibility of it being genuine.
But, why (after 150 years) didn't anyone know that it was a Continental $ not a Fugio cent?

I can't tell from the blurry pics and because I keep getting distracted by the guy skiing on fur  in the background!:D

In their defence, next to the "Bid" button, it does say you can take up to 6 months to pay !!! :)

Thanks, I was so busy looking at the coin that I missed him.
