Semirech'ye - Newly Islamicized transitional coinage of the Proto-Qarakhanid Estimated circa 10th century AD. The newly Islamicized Sogdian Qarakhanid people issued these very rare coinage as a transitional design from the incumbent Sino-Turgesh to the Islamic Coinage of the Arab world. The inscriptions here are in Kufic, an Iraqi-Arabic script and inscribed Malik Aram Yinal Cig. Some authors even attributed these to the final coinage of the Western Liao whom were pushed to the west and subsequently destroyed by the Mongols.
