I just got done photographing a Columbian Commem that arrived in the mail yesterday. Although I already have a few in my collection, lol... this one's a keeper!

Curious to see how you guys would grade it.

Thanks for the guesses. This one has strong underlying luster when looked at in hand and is struck slightly on the weak side. Eventhough it has a weak strike, it's fairly common for Columbian's and it doesn't distract from it's extremely clean surface and eye appeal. The toning made this one alittle tougher to grade, but it's a solid 64 and 65 isn't out of the question in my opinion... should it be resubmitted in the future.

I would be happy with it just the way it is. Most don't have such nice color.

a fantastic 64 coin!!! phenomenol eye appeal.

I just finished reading the book Devil in the White City, which about the brutal murderer during the 1983 World's Fair in Chicago. A fascinating historical book revolving around 2 stories - the brutal murderer and how they had to set up the fair at a rapid pace. The movie version is upcoming, which makes you wonder if the commemorative half and quarter will gain a little popularity.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

While I'm not going to say it in as many words, the colors on this coin are... unusual.

Very nice coin. One of my favorites. I'm looking to upgrade from the ungraded one I have now which is only in EF condition. I think I saw this one on eBay, and considered buying it. Fits my collecting model of preference for undipped coins, and I don't think this one was ever dipped. Glad it worked out well for you.

Sorry to say I don't think it could possibly make it to 65. Seems like a low end 64 on the grading scale, but with the original toning, it's a very nice premium coin. I'd leave it in the holder as is.

I don't plan on resubmitting myself, but I have a few of these and look at them often since it's one of my favorite coins. It would have a shot. I'll never know though because I'm very happy how it sits in my collection. Besides the color, what I like about it most is that it's undipped. She's a beauty for sure!
