Outside my normal focus, but the obverse really called my name. I thought I was going to get $20 off through eBay, but I didn't read the fine print. Oh well... still love it. PCGS MS65+ with Full Bands.
Here is a "1st" for me! Never have owned one of the photo-grade ANACS coins, and quite honestly this is a GOOD one with which to start! Though 30 years old, the slab remains in near mint condition and the coin within looks amazing, just BLAZING untouched luster. Yee-haw
Are Intercept Shield products still being manufactured? I went to their website, hasn't been updated since 2006!!!! A good product, IMO. I have several albums, but it's about time to replace the Intercept Shield 'protection' pages, but just don't know where to get them, IF they are available. Anyone here with info as to where the products may be purchased? But most importantly, ARE they available any longer (newly MANUFACTURED items, not ones that are still 'NEW', but made 10 years ago)?? Thanks for any/all help! Oh, and I'll be adding a new IHC to the thread soon......
Thanks, rlm!! Wizard has been/is my go-to for anything 'raw-coin-related', but I'm wondering if these Intercept Shield products are STILL being manufactured. If not, it makes virtually no sense to expect them to protect for the duration they were originally made to last for. If there's no 'new' IS product being made, one might as well go for Dansco.
@Travlntiques Is the MS65/65 the grade for both the obverse and reverse? I know they graded both sides separately back then.
Well, I jumped into somethimg new today with my purchase on ebay. There was 4 of these and I wanted all 4, but was in a bidding war with 1 person on all 4 (if you are on this forum, damn you!) I escaped with only 1 purchase but I have to say all these coins were great! Here is the one I did end up getting (cant wait to hold it in hand). This would be my 1st coin like this and I paid dearly for it. And the 3 I missed..... The last was really the Gem of the bunch and was dying to get, I just could not justify bidding any higher than I already had. To the man who got the other 3.....your pockets were deeper then mine on this night! Congrats. These were all made by the same artist, wish I knew who he was, I want more!
Thinn, I believe these are an off shoot of the old "hobo" nickels from back in the early 1900's. Are these done from quarters and halfs?
Not coin related... hmm... think about all the money you'll spend on baby food and diapers ... and how many double Eagles you could have bought instead !?!?!?
