The least expensive one I purchased was a common, with cannons at $40.00. I have 3 notes that are rare and I paid over $1500.00. I have a CSA Radar note, so then can be had for a little or a lot of money, just depends what you want/like.
well I definitely won't be getting the $1500 ones. is it $40 in a nice grade? or is it problem note? if a nice grade common one can purchased relatively cheap than it would be a nice addition
You can pick a common note up for under $100.00. The cannons are extremely common, therefore inexpensive. You can get a nice well centered note for about $40.00. Stains, pin holes, writing, tears, un-centered are a few of the most common problems that will lower the value. The notes are hand cut and most of them are hand numbered. A few are stamped numbers. 2 signatures by hand are required on each note. Happy hunting.
Don't worry about focusing on anything, just buy what you like! Spoken by a true ADHD collector lol... I have a nice certified 50ppq 1864 $10 CSA note I paid $50 for and have enjoyed owning so much history for such a small price. Also, I recently sold a somewhat low end VF25 Black Eagle and upgraded to a 50EPQ. If I could do it over I would have gone for the higher grade first. There are classic coins that have lots of eye appeal even in grades as low as G-VG. When it comes to currency, however, I've found that I can't get much enjoyment out of a note unless it's at least a good clean VF. So you were right to start with the high grades. I don't care how beautiful the design is, a dirty worn out wadded up rag just doesn't do much for me.
