    XF45 for the 1882 $5 and VF35 for the other one? Total guess on the second one.

    I should've done this before I posted the grades but here's a couple of better photos of the 1870 through a loupe. It looks like someone bit it to see if it was real. IMG_2176.JPG

    50 and 35

    I have almost the same 1870g California gold 1/4 dollar, the only difference is mine is round.

    My guess of the California would have been completely different with those second pictures. The damage is plainly obvious now.
