Damn, figured may be the next one will truly be the one. Even if Its the real deal there are "doubling" on the coin...? Correct me if Im wrong? I dont know if ya seeing it but there is some formality may be "Strike Doubling" or could be a low class DD... You guys probably dont see it because my camera does a badd job capturing.. Its cool i'll getting some better shots in later.... ThInk you guys.
Just an honest question: have you tried to research what the 1958 DDO actually looks like? I feel like if you'd seen a picture of it, there's no way you would have confused it with your coin. No ill will intended, just curious if you'd visited Mr. Google, Mr. eBay, Mr. NGC VarietyPlus, Mr. PCGS CoinFacts, or Mr. Variety Vista, Mr. LincolnCentResource, or Mr. Wexler's Die Varieties. Keep searching, there are lots of doubled dies out there. You'll find one eventually. Or you could be like me at the early stages...look, look, look, get frustrated, buy one on eBay just to actually hold a real one, find 25 within the next month.
I used to stare at one coin for an hour and keep thinking I was seeing something. Now I go through a roll in five minutes. Light can be a factor on shiny coins with cameras as well. Since I found a couple I now know doubling means Actual visible doubled features. I still post MD crap on here when I get wishful thinking. It keeps everyone entertained so they have something to voice an opinion on.
I think you guys misunderstood. Its my fault I miskeyed in last post. I know its not a genuine 1958 DDO but Im willing to bet there is definately "double striking" as for "doubled die" I have over 20 in my little cherry box onn top of my dresser... I posted this in hopes someone can identify the "striking" and may be give some pointers... No, I dont need reminders or directions to Lincolncents.com or coppercoins.com nor doubleddie.com to look at some pictures. Im not that brand new buddy just have high expectations... I went back and reviewed all the comments thoughts and opinion of forum members who have posted in considerations to the following topic. I like to make an apology to some of the members that i may have offended. Going back in reviewing the comments thoroughly it seems I may have misunderstood some of the commented. I hope its not too late for an apology. We may not be friends or aquaited in anyway but we are members of WWW.Cointalk.com respectfully the very least we can do is try and get a long... I am not perfect Im more wrong than I am right half of the time.... But I always acknowledged and admit too when I am wrong... We must not be too conceited and pride ourselves from the rest or we will lose our principals and morals abandoned them than we are no more than animals. We are better than lets get along..
Strike doubling, machine doubling and mechanical doubling are the same thing. There is also ejection doubling that is very similar to these. None of them are worth anything. With that said, I really don't see a doubled die anywhere. Chris
