hi everyone! last time i went to the flea market, i had some really good luck and bought some really neat coins. i am going back tomorrow to buy more. since i just got paid, i am just going to buy everything i need. and since silver is kindof low right now, i'll be buying some silver! i was also wanting to buy some more silver washingtons and wheat cents. i like to search the wheat cent rolls beacuse i just got into searching rpm's thanks to phoenix!:goofer: i was also wanting to buy some cent rolls at the bank since i will be out early. i am hoping to get some wheaties in circualtation too! everytime we go up there, i stand there at the dealer table for a couple hours. my mom always goes around the second time around the flea market and pries me from the table. now that i have my loop, i can see what i'm buying better! i was also wanting to look at some ASE'S. i know i won't buy one, but i like the design. i am also wanting to buy some walking liberty halves. well, i'll stop jabbering now! when do the new $1 coins come out? i already have the george washington one, and all i need is the thomas jefferson one.
It is a fun set to try to do, I wish you the best of luck with it. Need any help or tips with the set, drop me a pm. Lol, can put a strain on your eyes after awhile though. Good luck with finding some, and have fun at the flea market (lol, I'm going to mine to, except probably not spending much time at the dealers, need to find a purse as a gift for a friends birthday that is coming up, lol. Might get some time at the dealer though) Have fun! Phoenix
are there rpms on just the dates in the redbook, or can all dates and mintmarks have rpms? i'm pretty sure i have at least 1 in my 7 pounds of wheats!
thanks. i was wondering when it was going to come out. i think i am going to buy these at the bank instead of from the dealer. the dealer charges $1.50 apice for them. he's making a .50 profit off of that. i wonder if there are going to be any more weird errors on these?
That will be awhile longer---Adams will be out next. HA! Once you pay for the gas to the bank....the time that is spent in the bank and not at the shop, etc, etc, you have him taking a loss. Speedy
got home from the flea market! i bought lots of silver like i said! i got a 1957 silver certificate for $1.50. its really beat up, but i just couldn't pass up a $1.50 silver certificate! it got ripped some point in time and has a piece of that really old yellow tape on it. i also got a 1891O morgan dollar. its well worn, but i got it for $12. i like the way it looks, old and worn. i am starting to really get into morgans. i also got 2 franklin half dollars. 1 is a 1962D and the other one is a 1963. i got them for $5 apice because they look brand new. i got 3 silver quarters, a 1942, 1946, and a 1956D. these were $2.50 apiece. i've been buying these because silver washingtons are getting harder to find. also got a 1918 mercury dime. i got it for $1. its really worn though. i got 4 silver roosevelt dimes also for $1. 1958D,1959D,1960, and 1960D. i'm really working to get the set done! i also went to the bank to get $20 in nickels. i got a 1939S , 1941S(small s),1947,1948, and a 1959. the 1939S and 1941S were in the same roll! i was suprised to see the 1939S! well, i had a pretty good day! i will post pictures later.:goofer:
so there you have it, pictures! i also got at the flea market some plastic bill holders for my star notes and some uncircualed 2007 montana state quarters. hope everyone has a good night!
Wow, nice buys. :thumb: I personally think you did a bit better with the roll hunting honestly though! Awesome finds! :thumb: That 39 S is a really good find. A bit of a toughie IMO. Sounds like an awesome day to me. :thumb: Phoenix
Sounds like you're on the right track for a very admirable collection, Coinlover. You've got the enthusiasm. From the small acorn grows the great oak tree...
What flea markets do you go to that have coins??? I need to find a few new ones... What kind of stuff do they usually have??? I don't know if you remember me or not, but I live in St. louis and sometimes I come down that way (sorta that way) and hit some flea markets... Most of the ones I've hit are off of HWY 67 a bit below Farmington and Park Hills... I've never really found any coins althought I have found some over priced Silver Bars... The only thing I ever find worth anythng are a few used tools... Kind of low??? Maybe you have a bigger budget than mine... LoL, but that aint saying much... Seriously thought, Spots been at 13.00+ for months, add a buck or so for the "Dealers" Premium/cut and your looking at 14.+ an Oz.... Not Cheap, IMHO... The place I mentioned above wanted like 10.00 over spot for Generic rounds and bars... 10.00!!! I walked away fast!!!!
