I got this little guy as my "sensible" purchase along side the 1910 Matte Proof. I've had it in my watch list for almost a month, timing seemed right. I now have 1864 LM, 1865 Plain, 1865 Fancy RPD, 1866, 1867. Making my way to a complete cabinet for these fellas.
I'm supposed to be on a hiatus from large $$ coin purchases, but for my own reasons, I recently added these two to my collection. The VDB is for my type set. I added the seated proof simply because I liked it.
There are circulated 89-CC's by the dozen, and then there are the really scarce circulated 89-CC's that are actually worth buying. Congrats on finding one of the latter.
