1985P Lincoln doubled die

I found this one. I can't match any markers with dies Iv'e seen published. ????

I don't see a DDO anywhere. Maybe I should get my eyes checked.

Do you see the big notches on the bottom of the 9, and 5, and the big bulge on the lower East of the 8? Are you seeing quantum dots in place of copper?
Well no big deal because I have another theory about this one. If your lucky I'll share it....

I want you guys to know that I sent it to Mike Ellis from Coneca. He sent it back attributed as Coneca DDO-003. I am glad I did not listen to you and throw it out. It is quite scarce.

 

I think its safe to say we form our opinions based on the photos provided. Remember you have the coin in hand, we do not, all we have to work with are images.

Usually people would ask for better photo's if they can't see it. I am a Lincoln Cent guy so I have a better idea what a possible Lincoln DDO might look like than someone who is into VAM's or foreign coins. I already know there are a lot of newbies who are ready to chime in about someone's coin that they know nothing about. Thankfully I have learned enough so I take advice on here with a pound of salt.

 

@tomfiggy I used to snap a quick pick, post it, and then get mad because everyone couldn't see what I was seeing.... Now I only post a photo that I'm 100% sure shows what I want everyone to see. I guess I have learned to be a little more patient with taking (and retaking) photos...

 

So true. I used to hurry and post pics as soon as I found something. Now I get the gunk off first, and make sure I have a good shot. Live and learn...

 

Yes, I see them now, but the "8" still concerns me. She looks pregnant!

My first reaction was no doubling. Then I saw the splaying of the legs of the 5 and 9 and the fat 8, clearly showing in the smaller photograph.

 

Here is one currently for sale on the bay http://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-P-ddo-...620582?hash=item2a60db7166:g:im0AAOSwuTxV~0m~ If you ask me, its over priced by $9.88. I just cant get myself to look for these errors that carry no premium.

 

Me either, need a new set of "coke bottles" or some Lazic treatments?.....

 

I got a better pic by changing to grey scale. I don't care how much it's worth. I like 80's, 90's doubled dies the best if I found a high dollar one From the 60's or 70's I'd sell. It's quite a prize to me to find one like this. I don't need money so who cares?
