So............what do you think about the original post in the thread?

I found it to be one of those moments where I'd looked at the story before and then all of a sudden, as the gears clicked into place, it dawned on me what at what I was seeing. Kind of like suddenly "seeing" the doubling on a coin which, once you see it, you wonder why other folks don't see it because you can see nothing but the doubling?

As for using the word "Cool", I accept the word as an acknowledgement of what was shared.

Only that the concept was submitted by the "Metal Arts Co. of New York.

So who got the "official" billing for the Presidentials reverse? Don Everhart.

Most certainly not a designer with Metal Arts Co. of New York in the late 1960s.

I think you may(?) have stumbled onto something here, 19Lyds.

Maybe not a congressional hearing.... but definitely write a short article (just a few paragraphs, really) and submit it to Coinweek. Or even COINage. It deserves an interested glance from other U.S. coin enthusiasts.

I posted it over on the PCGS Forums and the response was lukewarm at best.

As for an article? Mmmmm, maybe a letter to the editor.

Say, does anybody remember the copyright fuss made over the 2004 "Ocean in View" Nickels?

I tried to look up Metal Arts Co but both numbers listed online were not there's.
One lady that answered remembered who they were but had no idea where they might be today.

I called COINage Magazine and left a message for the editor who may or may not call back.
