FWIW, MS63 RB PCGS guide is $475. The marketable price on the coin is $350-$425, which is where I got $380 from (MS62 bn sold for $323 on eBay). AU53 marketable range is $225-$250 (PCGS AU50 bn sold for $210 on eBay; PCGS AU55 bn sold for $280; ANACS AU55 sold for $201) for a PCGS graded and identified 1909 S/horiz-S. Less than AU money would be ~$200.

ANACS fee for grading is $12+$10 for identification? So, assuming the coin did cost around $200, they're into the coin ~$220 and it will sell for around $225. Not worth the effort/time in my opinion.

Beyond that, the S/horiz-S doesn't garner too much of a premium over the non-RPM coin, so I may have even over-estimated a bit.

  4. hahaha, this reminds me of one time I was bidding on eB, and won a couple and waiting for one to end. I was happy but instantly realized i should tell the fiancee, we pool our money so I felt a little guilty not mentioning I allocated silver funds. I got home after winning a couple, and then i was sitting next to her while one was just ending. It sent me a warning on my phone saying "ending soon!" and then her phone rang at the exact same time. Turns out i was logged into eb. on her phone too so she knew the whole time what was going on! hahaha
Anyway, more related to the topic, sometimes people might just be asleep. I love shopping late night, my logic, hopefully my competition is asleep.
edit: didn't want to state auction site name idk if thats bad

As an aside, today I heard the regular coin and bric a brac dealer at an area flea market recently sold a belt buckle with a $20 gold coin mounted with what he thought were rhinestones; it turned out they were diamonds and the buyer flipped the $1400 purchase for a $2K profit! The flea market dealer said he hates the internet, so doesn't get value information he needs.
