CCE thoughts

Discussion in 'Coin Chat' started by SilverStacks63, Sep 18, 2015.

  1. I know a guy that buys/sells on CCE and swears by it. I was thinking about doing some buying from him through CCE. Is that a good idea? Thank you in advance!

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

Yes. This is one of the lesser-known acronyms among hobbyists.

As far as I know, the CCE is only for dealers. It is a wholesale market where coins are treated as commodities (and hence, only certified coins are allowed). It's not a place for collectors.

The related Collector's Corner site caters more to the hobbyist.

Hmm? I thought CCE was short for "sissy". We get too many people who use shortcuts on their iPhones/iPads.

I suppose that "guy" you know isn't you - of course... Good way to generate ad chatter though... :)

CCE is quite expensive, and really not collector-oriented. It is a dealer-to-dealer marketplace.

Therefore, I suspect what you meant is that you're thinking of asking him to buy things for you on CCE . . . no?

My nephew is getting ready to go to UTI and at first thought he had a urinary tract infection. : - )

Gee, this is the 12th post, and I don't think any of us have answered his question, yet. Ha, ha!

I think physics-fan3.14 answered that this is for dealers and not a place for collectors.
That looks like the closes answer any of us have.

Because, and with all due respect to the OP, it isnt much of a question if you think about it. It is kind of like me asking if I should use my local (member only) co op for groceries if given the opportunity to do so free. Who is going to say no, especially without knowing the first thing of my buying habits? The only answer is, if this is true, to give it a shot and see what his buddy can do for him, right?

It's a place where dealers can dump generic coins by hitting the high bids. Sometimes you might like what you get other times you'll want sell it back it'll be so hideous. Great place to buy generic gold. I'd recommend it for $10 Indians and $20 Libs and Saints. Good luck!

CCE is the big coin dealer network; Coinplex is another one. You could just as easily go to a show and make offers with the big boys for what they are selling. I think it has been on the decline due to all the competition.

  19. Thank you for the responses. I don't get on here much so i was unaware of the responses. My friend is a dealer and i always hear CCE from him. I just thought that was a site that coin people use. I've known him quite a while and as far as him being a dealer i know that he buys on there. Other than that i just want to get good deals on coins.
