Maybe the last token was struck through something? The rims don't even come close to showing the wear that would corrospond to the *apparent* wear on the designs.
I have this one in bronze as well. Bought it mainly for the price tag from a defunct department store. I also have one of these in a more bronze looking color, also supposedly made from German cannon Can't remember if I've already posted this one
Could be almost anything as the center part looks to be corroded, but as you say the rim edging is in good shape.
A Day at the Fair!! Friday, I volunteered for a 4 hour shift for the kids at the Washington State Fair, they have a display case of coins.. Above this is a display of World Currencies.. Put on by the PNNA ...look it up on the net!! With a pan of Cents the kids can dig through and when they find there Birth year and we put it in a flip. once that's done they can have any Foreign coin to the left of the cents. We also give them a wooden Nickle and a elongated full copper cent. also give out to the parents info on coin shows and local coin clubs. We can get up to three hundred kids in 4 hours, Here's Tony the President of the Boeing coin Club making elongated cents. after making hundreds you can get a little tired.. This Year we have a die to put image on both sides of the cent, very cool.. Some how a nickle slipped into the slot!!
Looks to be the start of rolling a coin for a ring, they couldn't have picked a harder material coin to work on! Nice small charm in sterling, river boats being a minor interest of mine so it was another bonus find in the swap.
Here is an Arizona Centennial anniversary "coin". I think it's enameled beautifully. I got it from the bay and the seller said you really can't find them. I looked around and could not find the same one anywhere online. Does anyone know about these types of "coins"/ medals? View attachment 440907
That is similar in design and style to current "challenge coins." Check this thread out for other examples: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/challenge-coins.218228/
Picked up a new French Jeton. I loved the tree and the little "personified winds" imagery on the reverse. My images: Reverse: PCGS CoinFacts images:
