The bird shown on the Kisatchie Quarter is male. It's a Wild Turkey with a small beard above its breast area. Females don't have the beard. (if this helps any)

Once he finds a female turkey, he plans to mate them to make some "Little Kisatchies".

I don't think you're a dam. Dams hold things back.

A dam could also be the female parent of an animal.

I don't think I can add anything here other than to say I don't collect coins later than the state/territory quarters, regardless.

IMHO those are 25 cent coins from the United States. When I was a boy, one would get 5 candy bars and now it takes five of them to buy one. Oh yes, they depict a buzzard flying through pine trees.

Not entirely true, while not common hens can and do get beards.

Absolutely correct. I was gonna post the same thing. I had a group of hens that stayed around my house last year. One had a thin beard about 4" long. You can always tell hens from toms by the color of their head. Hens have a greyish head while toms have a white, blue, or red head.

I think I can see a UFO on one of those coins. It's hard to see because it's behind the bird. I'll work on the proof but it will take me a few hundred post. I may need to start several threads before I give you any details of this great find.
