i found a copper penny said silver on it was in a holder is it a weight thing or sumeone must of marked it wrong i guess

The only answer I can think of is zinc cents stripped of their thin copper layer are occasionally referred to as silver pennies, just like sac. $ are called golden.
still curious... you say "it was marked" silver how was it marked? was it in one of those little cardboard squares with clear window? (we call those flips) with writing on the cardboard? was it part of as set marked "silver proof set" Curious about your coin
