Is This An RPM? 1951 S Roosevelt

    Looks to me like die deterioration.

    It looks like die chips to me , but I've been wrong before .

    Could be a chip, hard to tell, but I think deterioration is more likely blending into the edge, but doesn't really look like a RPM.

    Put some light on that mint-mark, so we can see it better . The ends are to dark to look for split serif

    Attached is a photo of a photo from Wexler/Miller's The RPM Book. Your mintmark looks the same to me, note the short faint die gouge center left in the field next to the S. You can see it in Ricks chropped image of your photo.

    This looks like an RPM to me...it is too early of a die state to be deterioration. The mintmark position is also the same.

    The best part, as we can see, no 2 look alike, all are some what different, one way or another, but they all end up in the same RPM ..

    Nice RPM ....die chips and die deterioration seems to be the run of the mill answers to the non variety collector here. Very nice score pretty toning too. Congrats .
