Wow! Don't think that anyone that has ever seen a legit Seated Dollar is going to be falling for that one.

 

I am not sure this one looks all that pure ether.

I don't see any reason to suspect the 1842. The surfaces are messed up, and it won't grade problem free, but I don't think it is fake.

 

Nah, that is the ultra rare 1840 CC.

 

You may be right about the 1842. The color and the surfaces are just to grainy, it doesn't look right to me.

 

Oh! I didn't know that was the ultra rare 1840 CC, then we might get it for a good price.

 

Well it HAS to be rare, since it was struck 30 years before the mint went into operation.

 

And because it was 18 years before Carson City was founded.
