I am not trying to reach.... but.... first of all is it possible? this is a 10 troy ounce bar of fine silver from 1983. also does the fact that it has CC on it significant? so the question is...is it a DD?

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

Except for weight and fineness, nothing on that bar is significant. It's bullion.

The producers of bars, rounds, and ingots would like you to BELIEVE that there can be something "special" about their bullion product(s). It's a sucker's bet.

And, hey, if something's a big hit, umm, we can produce a million more...o_O

Even if it was as obvious as a 1955 DDO, no increase in value

Agreed! Take a look at these 25th Anniversary medals from CONECA. The "errors" are intentional.

unless its something like a american silver eagle or another state produced dual purpose round that has an error then it is worthless

That's not logical. If a state- (I would have said "government-") produced item has an error, then it's worth MUCH more, not worthless. Happens now and then.

I was worried about added value. I would never sell it. it is a gift from my grandmother. to me it already has a cool factor as it is my only one. but it would have been a SUPER cool factor to me. thanks for all the responses.
