gatzdon, You're killing me. Seriously. I'm thinking of driving to Buffalo/Niagara falls, every couple of weeks, just to spend the Saturday morning searching rolls in my car. My wife would throw me out if I did. Nevertheless, I'm still considering it. lol

Look closely at the D with a loupe, see if there is anything unusal there. ;) Might be wrong, but looks like something possibly. BTW, nice find. :thumb:

I don't believe somebody noticed...thanks. You have a discriminating eye. My camera is in Scotland right now (yeah, I'm just a sucker for good friends ;)), but, the point is, these head-on scans are still the best I can do. This time, though, I took it out of the flip, and have a few other '69-Ds next to it, along with the infamous '69-S DDO (just the date, of course). With the loupe, though (and I can probably capture this better if I had my camera), there's faint doubling, on the D and the numerals, and, on the numerals, it looks like it's all in the right places. There's a hair of that, there, anyway; do you see it?

Lol, Thought I saw something. Thanks. That is neat. Looks like there is some doubling there, I think it is an RPM. Which one, I am not sure, lol. But it looks like it to me. Awesome find, and glad I could help.

Just finished my latest box of halves. 12 40% Kennedys, 2 90% Kennedys, and my 1st ever Walking Liberty Half (42D). Satisfied after finding zilch in my last 2 boxes.

Continue to search nickels and they seem to be the most consistent search, every box will net about 20 pre-1960 coins.

Side note - got a 51S Lincoln back in some change a couple of days ago.

Went to the casino tonight and played $100 worth of nickels. Found a 1940 S, 1943 S, and a 1954 S ... about a dozen other pre-1960 nickels. Not bad. The 43 S is actually EF. Not bad. Lost my shirt gambling though - AUGH

Just went through 4 more rolls of Wash Dollars and found nothing. The tellers seem to have all you want of them. Theyare a pain to look at because of the edge

Searched 15 rolls of halfs. Got a 2001D, 1983 with no initials reverse, 1966, 1967, a few other hard to get (for Connecticut) D minted halfs and whoa Nellie, a 1966 Bahama Islands half that's 80 percent silver.
The coin has a large fish (blue marlin) on the reverse, Queen Liz 2 obverse.

Last week I asked a teller for all her halves, and she went back to check. All she had were two rolls—but when she handed them to me, I saw that they were both unopened mint-wrapped 2001-P.

I’m not sure what to do with them. I’ve never had a mint roll before, so they’re kind of neat, but at the same time I realize they have very little premium over face value. Maybe I’ll try to sell one at the next coin club auction.

Searched 100 $ in nickles today, came up with:
    1938
    1939
    1940
    1940s
    1941
    1942
    1946
    1951d
    1952x2
    1954
    1954d
    1957dx2
    1958dx2
    1959dx2
    1960d

are there any real value to these? the 38 is about a Fine I think.

The station is so used to me spending halves, that they know I will take halves and dallar coins happily in change. Works out pretty well.:)

My teller got two rolls of US quarters today and set them aside for me. I only had to pay $20 CDN for them. She was just getting ready to call me when I showed up. I wished her a happy Mother's Day on my way out. :)

Searched a $50 bag of pennies today .... 240 Wheats!!! I broke my old record of 155 previously in 2005 (prearranged hordes don't count of course) Nearly 5% success rate! Not bad. Only sad part was, they were all WWII or post WWII ... Only thing that stood out was 1920 D - G, 1925 S - F, 1926 VG, 1927 D - VG:F, 1934 F ... Not so great. I did have a shocker - a 1944 D with one of the fours scraped off pretty good to resemble a 1914 D ... OH! I knew right away - but it did get my attention and I did substantiate the scratch with my loop. Oh so close!! I figured a scenario for the wheat horde like this. Someone's grandparent said 30 years ago, "I'm going to start saving all the wheats I get in my change - they'll be worth something someday." And that person most likely croaked, the kids, or grandkids got their hands on the pennies and off to the bank they went. You gotta love it if you collect coins!
