Anyone familiar with this token?

Can't figure out what this is. Tax token? Mining piece? Trade token? Obverse shows 1/2 L and reverse shows M A M. Any help is appreciated!

Boy...... now that is a generic design... I wish anybody and everybody good luck on this one.

 

nearest I (Google) found was this:

Netherlands East Indies plantation token for 5 liters of rice ca. 1911-1916.
Let's see what others come up with, I may be way off base

 

I am not familiar with this token, but I do not collect many types of foreign tokens. I did some searching and found some countries with 1/2L denomination tokens, but they were of a different style, and typically had more features in the design.

 

I haven't seen anything like this either, turnerj1.
