Hallo my friends. I returned from the European travel. It was an interesting tour: I have visited such regions as Bavaria, Saxon Switzerland, Moravia and Prague. During this journey I bought several interesting coins. I would like to share it with you. Regards. Eugene.
Guatemala. 5 pesos 1923, aluminium-bronze, mintage - 440000 pcs. Provisional coinage. Single release only. I paid $9 for it.
I prefer Prague. It is very nice and ancient town. Nice castles, churches. And many, many, many shady parks!
Kingdom of Hannover. 16 gute groshen 1834. Very nice and rather big coin. But rather expensive too: I paid about $95 for it.
That's very nice ! It's a denomination I don't yet have in my Hanoverian collection. I also love the design on the 1/2 kreuzer amazing on a copper coin !
I think I need to get around Europe more. I've only ever been to Portugal Zakinthos (Greece) Portugal again. Fuerteventura (Spanish Canary Island) Madeira (Portuguese attempt at the canaries )
Mark, You can get the overnight car ferry from your place to Holland and drive through Europe. I`ve done it several times, Hull - Rotterdam then Germany, Austria, Italy, Greek Islands., I`ve also gone via Zebrugge to Venice then onto Greece. I plan to do Scandinavia in the next few years. BTW I was up in S.Shields last week
Prague is definitely one of my favorites. I remember visiting a coin shop in the Old Town with a huge selection of European coins from all different centuries. I bought a 1999 Czech proof set there that I still have. If you haven't already visited I would also highly recommend Cesky Krumlov. It's like a miniature version of Prague.
I was wondering what had turned the weather Any particular reason to come here ? They've done wonders with the sea front in the last few years like. I'm aware of the ferry scenario but having only turned 25 this year it hadn't previously been an option. Next year is a possibility. Would love to hit s few places on the road including the Nurburgring
thank you for the photos, and commenting on your trip. My favorite coin you posted is the 16 Gute Groschen. The horse looks well designed.
