Ok - now all the [near] UNC's are looking like Proofs.

2nd pic: is the '71 Proof? '95? And the '04 looks like total Frost-job. Never heard of it.

Nice coins.

The red book lists 1995-S proofs, but not 1995-D proofs.

 

Here is a picture of the ten rolls I found.

 

Was going through my recent BWR wheatback finds, looking to see if any filled holes in my primary collection. To my amazement, I filled 4 slots! 1910, 1928, 1941-D, 1952-S!!!

None of these coins are high quality - around G-4, or worse (the 52-S looks terrible), but hey progress!

All 4 of these coins came in the past 3 or 4 weeks from sifting through Loomis BWRs. I've been through maybe 8 (?) boxes of cents in that period.

 

Went through 32 cent rolls today (1600 pennies)...

203 copper cents
-199 Memorial (includes a 1969-S & 1970-S)
-4 Wheats (1944-P, 1945-D, 1950-D & 1955-P [not doubled])

2 1982-P zincs (both Large Date)

5 2009 Bicentennial cents

1975 Canadian cent (has a pig on the reverse, I kid you not)

2 cent Euro

 

The cent is from Bermuda... or an error of some sort.

 

What's the most recent year from those rolls?

I ask since '64 Silver Rosies were minted THROUGH 1967...

 

They were minted through 1967, but were back dated to 1964. Any of them dated 1965-1967 were clad. Silver and clad were minted side by side in order to keep silver actively in circulation until the clad were accepted by the public.

From one of the last rolls from the Halves box (CAUTION - GRAPHIC)

 

I did not know that. It was just my lucky day to get all silvers.

 

Well as I stated last comment, I got skunked on 3 boxes of halves. Today I walk into the bank to withdraw some money as im leaving on vacation in a day, went to the teller and asked for my dough. As she was counting I happened to glance at her tray, she had 2 halves and I identified the silver one hiding behind the clad one. She hands me my money and asks if there is anything else she could do for me. I stated "sure, can I get those 2 half dollars please" and handed her a buck. I tucked them in my pocket til i got out to the car. I remember saying to myself "man that thing is white behind the clad, probably a 64!. I was wrong. As i dug the 2 out of my pocket and let my 4yr old put it in her "purse" I look at the other one. Boom! 43 walker UNC. I told my wife "wtf"! Anyway, I went home an stuffed it in its new home, a 2x2.

This makes it like 3 times I have caught tellers with silver in their tray. The other times were 40%er's though.

 

That is a very sharp looking coin!

 

That was my thought....someones parent is mad because those just dont show up @ the bank. Im kicking myself now that I think about it, I should have asked for the coin counting machines bag of halves!

I just finished off a very weak BWR box of Loomis cents. Coins seem pretty hit or miss since my bank switched to Loomis.

Anyway, there were 15 wheats, the oldest being a 1944, (2) 1946, 1948. Most of the rest were 1958-Ds. All of the coins were brown and worn. G-4's or lower caste Fines. There were 3 SanFran coins, 1968-S, (2) 1970-S, and a few beat up 2009s of different backs.

Hoping these weak boxes are flukes. I'm going to swap my 3 searched boxes at a couple of branches I've never visited. Maybe they'll have some CWRs or older BWR boxes!

 

Sweet! Great way to start a vacation.

 

I also pull the 2009 cents but wonder if I'm wasting my time. What do you guys think? Are they worth pulling? Why or why not?
