Yes strange wording...but yeah.... out of the blue your eye catches something and your mind takes off?
Just happen to me as I guess that sometimes you see something but it doesnt click...and all of a sudden...there it is,
I just purchased this specimen. 1867 IHC . Having some knowledge of the series and date my eye knew what to look for. ..better variety coins.
This particular variety has some verry cool anomalies on the coin. There's the N clash from the word "one" on the reverse that as plain as day on her neck at the angie of the mandible.
Therethe "C" clash directly in front of her eyes....easy to see...
Her date is doubled,,,1867/1867....and out of the blue last night..my eyes and grey matter spotted this....look above the eye....see the horn like nob sticking out?

Duh...a MPD? The 1 punched into her forehead above the eye? Is this normal for this obv.? Or is she just horny? IDK...
And if by chance it is a MPD a 1......no one else has seen this in 150 +/- years?
    Perhaps I'm wrong...but look at it I swear I see a 1...see it? s-l1600-9.png s-l1600-8.png 20230308_044132.jpg
Ive marked the areas in question so to map your eye to them.
Theres several IHC dates that have MPD's in the neck, hair, denticals, etc

Ive' never put the bottle down! ;) you need a coinifacation an education on the IHC.
What's so funny is....Longacer used his daughter as a model for the obv. Design.
I've never met a native American who had the nose of a white man.
She definitely has the features of a white woman not an N.A.

This makes me think of when the CPG first came out. I was like a kid looking back at everything in my collection and found a few that were listed in the book.
This put me on the path of searching Ebay and it was really easy to pick some cool coins.

The Indian is male but the coin is female.

For some odd reason this thread is starting to remind me of that band from the 70's, the Village People. They had a band member dressed up like an American Indian, if memory serves me correctly.

Nice coin @Paddy54. I just got the latest catalog of coins for sale from L&C Coins and could not believe how many RPD's & MPD's there really are. They had a slew of them up for sale and many were quite reasonable. Never knew how many IHC's had these and so many different dates.

No offense, but I think your need to change the light bulb. I do admit to being on meds and having questionable eye sight right now, but even when arrows point it out, I am not seeing it.

I had a toasted cheese sandwich once that I thought looked like a 1955 DDO LWC. Once I sobered up it turned out to be my cat.

No as to your coin, a few years back I let a raw 1867/67 slip past me in an online auction. It looked at least AU55. The person who won it got it at an unbelievable price.
