ok so i need a little help with this one, its my first Galerius and my first large follis, its 26mm and 8.7 grams, this is the closest match i found: Galerius Maximian, AE Follis, Siscia, 294 AD. GAL VAL MAXIMIANVS NOB C, laureate head right / GENIO POP-VLI ROMANI, Genius standing left, eagle at feet, modius on head, naked except for chlamys over left shoulder, holding patera and cornucopiae. S-B across fields, no mintmark. RIC VI Siscia 81b. only i dont see the "eagle at feet" (but i did not see it on the example shown on wildwinds either) and mine is "S - gamma across field"... my question is - is this a RIC VI Siscia 81b only maybe a different variant? thanks all..
No, I was wrong, Galerius RIC VI Siscia 81b. Listed as common. I found it looking through Helvetica's at http://www.catbikes.ch/coinstuff/coinstuff.htm
