    Keep it up. The more you look at, and the more you read the better you will get. None of our members woke up being an expert on anything. It comes from years of experience! Hold your head up and get 'er done :)

    As mentioned above, this appears to be a dryer coin. The design elements appear "smeared" or "smooshed", and the rim has begun to widen and fold over the words on the 'heads' side. These are key to identifying dryer coins :)

    The rim is still intact so I don’t see it flat around the edges, hence, not a dryer coin. The entire coin does have the look of being dissolved, so I’m thinking it took an acid bath.

    This is what's known as a dryer coin. Look for photos. Either in the search box here, or Google. They will match.
    If the coin is much smaller and much lighter than a regular coin, then acid.
