I'm interested in finding one possibly one day but probably not. It is very hard for me to pay a lot of money for a penny! Oops I mean cent
well thanks Daniel Jones I needed that because I am wearing myself out my mind just keeps going and going this is not the only thing I have going there is a lot of other things I am learning about. I am just passing threw and I think I am about just done so I am trying to you guys to see what I see and learned. there is something more than what is now. the dots are not the only thing there are more to see than just dots maybe some RPM's are not a mistake maybe they are from another coin. Before saying anything about that I have to show you what I mean from another coin. I am very tired and need some rest. it will take me some time to think about how to go about showing what I mean I still have to find the perfect coins I have some but not enough until then......
Are you positive that the dots in line aren't caused by other dimes' reeded edges? Are they raised or incuse?
You need to make a templet to take images on . I have 2 of them, one out of a dixie cup and one from a Styrofoam cup . Your images are way out of plumb and this will put them in plumb .
Look you can line those dots up a another coin of same denomination. Here is what my conclusion and this is as far as i went but i could see from this it could create........well let me show you this drawing of what i mean
For this it leaves impressions on the press. After years of using press it start to become a die of all denominations. Thats why i say the layout of these design are very smart, they cover up alot that the impressions make, but some markings become visable on the coins that the press strikes becoming part of the die in use.
[QUOTE="Rick Stachowski View attachment 435647 View attachment 435680 [/QUOTE] On the first picture you can see the dots which are black under the N on the bottom right there are two showing clearly.
I am not talking about during the strike, these impressions are on the part of the press that holds the die whatever is behind the die that where the waves or vibrations travel to.
I am not speaking of any errors here, but the effects of years of use of that the press machine im pretty sure that they change that part of press also, where the die is placed for it not being worn down but for what it creates.
I think you are overestimating vibration as you describe many many times and underestimating the mass of the die holders. Look at this photo of Carr's old denver mint press. and notice the mass compared to the face of the die, no way in my opinion that marks from previous coins could be distinctly transferred. http://www.moonlightmint.com/artifacts.htm
So it's a little like the "Princess and the Pea" story. Where there is a die that is so sensitive it can transfer the empathy into pressure from a quantum dot.
I have certainly felt the similarity between an unopened roll of pennies and Schrodinger's cat box. If only I could truly believe it was so the whole roll of pennies would be 1969 DDO's. By not believing fully I have caused the California drought and there are no new DDO's on any Denver cents.
