I'm thinking about picking this up any thoughts as to rareness or value? It's maybe one of the earliest grading I have found. Sorry about the images as they are the sellers not mine. This is an Auctori Plebis token, sometimes included in coins of Connecticut .

Was wondering what the certification and autographs would be worth? This has to be very early 80's,maybe even earlier . One of the first TPG coins?

It's a connecticut copper. In my searchings, you can get one that quality for cheaper on ebay.

But not with that provenance .

True, not with the Walter Breen history. If that's what you're mostly after, I say go for it. If you're simply looking for a genuine connecticut copper, there are plenty others available.

Thanks guys. IMO, the coin isn't the prize here, but the provenance is just cool. I love the connection to old school collecting before slabs ruled the world. I wish that new and old collectors would realize that coins have been traded for hundreds of years without the need for TPG slabs. I do realize their value in the current market, but it was t always the way and some of the greatest collections were long before this modern prerequisite to purchase a coin.
