Here is an NGC AU55 to compare. Notice the lack of details on the eagle shoulder, and the lack of detail behind the zigzag lines on the headdress. I would say OP coins are higher grade.
Thanks for all the guesses/estimates. Off to pcgs today so I'll update with true views and grades when they arrive back.
I like them both at 58. The first one is hard to tell with the mark on the cheek (that's the prime focal area, and the area where wear will first appear), but the second one definitely looks like it has some rub.
I'm learning that I'm way too critical. I guess I'd make a great coin dealer. Glad to see the 58, they are good looking. I just got an AU58 $10 Indian back from ANACS. I was expecting a 55.
I agree, the 25-D looks nicer but I would add due to the color. The 28, if you look closely, shows a hair bit less wear. Don't take me the wrong way, I like both and I'd add them to my collection if I didn't already have the set. I'm glad for Chromerunner that they both graded 58 as I would have said 55 on the 25-D.
