This is my first ever selfie and quite possibly my last as I am not very adept at them. So why on earth show a selfie here? Well I have just come home from a very nice family holiday to Sorrento in Italy. Whilst in the bay of Naples I forced my family to trek around Pompeii and Herculaneum. My selfie is taken in the Forum in Pompeii with Mount Vesuvius looming large over my shoulder. I am pretty sure you don't want to be bored with my holiday snaps but I will post a few images of some of the ancient sites in coming days. Martin
Well, if you're going to pick a backdrop for a first selfie, you could do worse! Nice selfie under the hot Italian sun.
I for one would very much like to see your holiday snaps. I'm glad Mt. Vesuvius behaved while you were there.
Nice un' Martin, like the sites with the mountain in the background. Is it as bad as the Florida sun?
Great pic Martin! LOL, I remember when "selfie" was a photographic mistake when you randomly pushed the button and the flash went off in your eyes! Great to see the human behind the avatar. Italy is a super place to visit. Beautiful country. Please continue to post your pics!!! Looking forward to seeing the sites!
Doubt it. The sun seems to punish Florida a lot more than other hot places. Just 'cause its Florida I guess...
Nah man. Try going to Thailand or Columbia or Saudi Arabia. You will find the sun in Florida is a nice furry little kitten compared to those places.
Martin, like everyone else, I would LOVE to see your pics!!! My next trip will definitely be southern Italy...
Agreed!!! Bangkok (I LOVE that city), is very "hot" due to its high HUMIDITY also! Other places my have extreme heat, but heat coupled with humidity makes it HOT there! GREAT food there!
I remember saying to an older gentleman that I wanted to go on vacation with my wife to Thailand, then I was told that was like bringing a ham sandwich to a banquet.
LOL! GREAT analogy! Naw, I love food, history, people, culture, and the sights whenever and wherever I travel (mainly on bidness). Thailand gets a bad rap (and somewhat deserved one too). And, yes, I would take my wife anywhere in Thailand!
Yawn. You lads have not been to Mississippi or Louisiana! It's usually above 90 degrees F in the summer and the humidity is incredible! Here is a pic of a cotton field I visited a few years back. Hell on earth gentlemen, hell on earth!
LOL, dude, remember we talked about this... I have LOTS of Fam in Looosiana! Thailand be hotter/more humid!!! Virtually ALL year long!
