2015-P Kisatchie quarter. Looks a lot like a doubled claw but I suspect most of you will call it a die chip. I have found quite a few with die chips actually on the bottom of the claws but nothing like this that appears to be a whole claw separate from the main claw. There is some pre-die break depressions under the tail, too.
IMO you called it exactly--I haven't seen that size of a die chip by the foot on all those I have searched---a good coin for someone to start off in coins with. A neat find.
I have a bunch of Homestead and Blue Ridges with die breaks on the reverse. Blue Ridge seems to be all in one place but Homestead is all over the roof, bottom of the bucket, top of the top window and a few in the leaves.
Ok, so I would call this: A coin that could start someone off/into coins. Keep posting pictures, very nice btw.
The blemish on the right looks like a die dent. I would agree with the OPs diagnosis concerning the two blemishes on the left.
