Are any of these "unique"?

Discussion in 'Paper Money' started by NoLincolnCents, Aug 7, 2015.

  1. I've read a little about "Unique" serial numbers, but I'm a bit confused as to what exactly counts as a fancy serial number on a dollar bill. I recently came across these bills, and they kind of looked that way to me, but thought I would check with other to get their opinions. Thanks in advance!

All three are spenders. No dealer or serious collector would buy them. There are YN's who look at notes and say the note's serial number is cool. However, that only works if they find it for themselves. They wouldn't buy it but for a dollar, maybe a dollar fifteen or a dollar 25 cents. Your not money ahead on that scenario either, once you pay for postage.

They're cool notes, but nothing significant. If you like them, then keep them.

Could you do us all a favor, and rotate your scans CCW before posting so we can view them without having to turn our heads.......thanks.

I agree. If you like them--keep them. Otherwise I'd keep the one with the six 5's
    and spend the other two.

Congratulations! You have found an extremely cool number! It has a Universal Coolness Index of 99.05%

      • 75555558 contains a 6-of-a-kind together. Only 0.0028% of 8-digit numbers have this combination.
      • 75555558 has 3 unique digits. In 0.71% of 8-digit numbers, there are 3 or fewer unique digits.
      • 75555558's digits sum to 45. In 15% of 8-digit numbers, the digits sum to at least 45.

A Universal Coolness Index of 99.05 is pretty cool. As I said earlier, I believe I would keep it, in a protective holder of course.
