Partial Collar Strike

    Is this a partial collar strike on this 1955-D cent? It is 18.85mm in diameter and has a thickness range from 1.16mm-1.44mm. The rim shot I took was at the thinnest area of the coin.

    That looks like it was an encased cent, the rims have been flattened. A partial collar strike will have an edge that looks like this (AKA railroad rim).

    Yeah, it's an encased one. That's what you want to do on these, look at that edge.
