Do you think the reverse proof would have more value graded? I have the set but not sure if its worth the cost. And does anyone know if this coin alone is ever going to be minted more then the 500 in the set? Remember the 1998 proof is very costly. Lets me know your thoughts. Thanks Jim
OK, I'm going to make you laugh. Too serious today. Until fairly recently, I thought a reverse proof was Uncirculated on the obverse and Proof on the reverse. That shows you how much attention I pay to current Mint products. And I also wondered, how do they polish just one side?
You can polish just one side easy enough. I have seen a world coin struck with one side a polished proof die, and the other a business die. OP, if you are not in a rush to sell, and am not going for a "early release" label, (hate those), then it does not matter when you have them slabbed. Keep your money, store the coins properly, and worry about slabbing if they do become very valuable.
I hate to tell you Doug, but they only polish the side of the coin that's facing up when it's ejected from the machine.
