Are you sure you don't mean the 1919P DDO? It was just discovered a few months ago.

No I just saw this article too. It was a 1926 I think and it was yellow anacs holder and the coin was MS-60 details. It definitely exists and it wasn't the 1919 either.

I was checking to make sure it wasn't the 1919 because the new date shocked me. The article also mentioned how 'discovery piece' or some such nomenclature was on the label.

Try accessing coin world from Facebook, pretty sure that's where I saw the article.

And here is the most interesting part of the article courtesy of CoinWorld.

This was a little snippet from page 1, and cool the owner didn't even know, it was the grader who identified it for him!

Coin world site was giving me issues earlier today (8/10/2015). Then it started behaving better. Haven't checked it for 10 hours or so.

Does this mean I have to pull out all of my Mercs and examine them?

I think we all do with these Doubled Dies being discovered all over the place.

Or we can all realize they are so common that they are nothing special and not worth the effort to look for. ;)

Well considering they are just being found after nearly 80-100 years of being produced and collected, they may not be all that common. Thats something we will have to wait and find out about as more people start looking for these pieces.
