Check this eBay sellers inventory of fakes. Reprehensible

His entire inventory is "replicas". Some are obvious some have aged patina and wear.

His is honest and says 'novelty'.

 

He is honest but I hate seeing this type of stuff on the market.

 

And the seller must be Christian because his name is a Book of the New Testament and verse

 

Evidently not aware he is violating Federal Law by selling replicas without the word COPY indelibly marked on the coins. Eh, its just a Federal law, nothing big.

Did you know that the guys who designed and built the Titanic said that "Not even God could sink this ship"

 

He sells the coins and notes in his description "Novelty" so the buyer knows they are fake or copy. He didn't produce the coin, he probably bought a ton of them to sell as cheap as possible. It's the buyer who should read all information about any product and if they want to buy so be it.

 

Coin description seems clear:

"This listing is for the novelty coin(s) written in the title and as pictured. (Again, this is a novelty, not an actual coin)"

Not really reprehensible to me. I have actually been interested in having some copy/replicate cents to see if I could detect that they are not original.

 

I am not sure what the issue is here. The coins are listed as "novelty," and the three or four I looked at, had the word "COPY" on the reverse prominently displayed.

 

I agree, some have "COPY" on them and some appear to not have that on them. The problem is some of them will be bought and re-sold as being genuine.

I see it with replica coins sold in Italy, people buy them and then sell them here in the USA as being real coins.
