Can you give your reason why it would be a fake? I don't know and would like to learn. I see a mintage of 3000 for 1930

The date is pretty bad. Also the text on the fake looks a little fatter than a real one (pictured below). I almost feel like it has a cartoony look to it. Also the dots around the date are much larger than they should be. Counterfeiters usually make the king look good which is always surprising to me. I think that would be much more difficult than the letters. The 1930 had a very low mintage due to the depression. No coins were actually supposed to be minted that year but I guess the employee's made some anyways. They are very valuable in any grade.

Dang it! Ebay has been really bad about taking off fake coins lately. yea this probably came from Russia or something.
Well create a $14,000 dollar coin and sell it for $100. I wonder how the buyer can think that he got that good of a deal?
As with another fake rare Aussie coin we discussed recently (1923 halfpenny I believe) they used a genuine coin to transfer the correct design details. But, as they could not get their hands on a genuine example of the same year, the date had to be changed and that is the most obvious clue.
There is a seller on ebay selling DOZENS of "1930 Penny" with the same photo, over and over, just claiming "1930 PENNY not graded or appraised." https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1930-Au...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649 OK the buyers should be doing a bit of due diligence and seeing the feedback history...so many rare 1930 coins! I would report it because ebay should not allow fakes of anything without it being stated - and this seller could not claim innocence! - however the "report this item" link requires 'reasons' and I can't see a choice for "ripping off the naive"! Suggestions?
Sadly it just seems that there are incentives for ebay to 'allow' counterfeits to be sold so that they can take 10% of their share. The only way to stop them is to force them in expensive lawsuits like what the French companies did almost a decade ago. Or just flood the market with lots of counterfeits. The Chinese coin section looks 'impressive'. Until then, it's a buyer's aware market.
