For sure, the spots won't get any smaller or less attractive. Pass.

It will be interesting to see where it finishes.

I like it, the spots don't bother me much on such a rare, toned coin.

I think any MS grading of this coin is extremely generous. A identical normal 1955 would be low AU at best.

So you are seeing significant wear on that coin?

Ouch...someone took a $500 hit on that one. :jawdrop:

Not to mention it was on eBay since last year I think someone said...so it may have been a long, painful, drawn out loss?

Someone took a bigger hit than 500. Add in ebay final sales fees and probably paypal fee (~273 bucks) and the seller is left with around $1,831. Approximately 30% loss. Sounds right, welcome to the hobby ; )

I also agree that the grade is generous. I have put it at AU'ish also, probably got a bump for the color. Don't like the carbon garden either... 55DD's are still dropping in price and imo have further to go. I picked up a very nice AU58 some time ago in PCGS for around 1k and a bit of change. The new buyer of this coin will do well to sell at a push in his or her lifetime.

I have been watching an auction of a MS63RB. It sets at 2100ish now.

I see rubbing on the cheek, beard and lapel. And flattening around the ear.

Lol, I saw that. I meant to bump this thread earlier when eBay said it was re-listed. Amazing!
