I've been offered an 1864 L on ribbon cent (decent F grade, don't have pictures) for $130. Decent price ?

This is from a British coin dealer (grade F, £65). I dunno....I know it is rare, but what are the catalougue prices ?

It's your money and possibly your coin. Do as you wish.

I would never buy an F-12 (64-L) for more than $100

    It isn't F-12...(low fine), but a rather higher piece, F-15 to 20....

I'd still hold off, unless you really like it and want it.

I dunno, it'd have to be pretty pleasing for that kind of cash

For a strictly graded F-15, $130 sounds fairly reasonable to me, maybe just a bit on the high side.

Coin Values shows the coin at $135 for an F-12 and everyone knows that they are too high on their values! I probably wouldn't pay more than $110 and then only if the "L" is still showing! When considering resell, very few Collectors would consider the Variety without the "L" showing even if it is shows the Pointed Breast well. They are abundant enough and not moderately overpriced, so most Collectors will just wait for a nice one to show up for sale.

It has a dealer ask price of $105 so I think $130 is too high
