I bid on this coin because I already had won three in the sale and overseas postage would not increase with one more. I had no idea I should have held off for one with better surfaces or a more scarce legend. Live and learn.
I've got this "Vivo" coin of Carus with Jupiter on reverse. There's the letter S in exergue , making it almost unpublished. It was struck in Cyzicus and pertains to the second Emission. Likely to be RIC 118 c. I learnt that there are only 7 specimen known so far. I do appreciate your comments.
Ummm, I've lost track => is that still the same coin?! (if so, it's lookin' good my mentor-ish friend)
Once again, I hope you don't mind, but I lightened your image just so as I can see all the wonderful detail. I did not change anything about your image other than the lighting. It's a beautiful coin.
7Calbrey your clementia temp coin isn't seen often, in my database 11 specimen with S in exe. There is a online article written by Sylviane Estiot http://www.persee.fr/web/revues/home/prescript/article/numi_0484-8942_2007_num_6_163_2829
