Yeah dimes where not kept in the sulfur bags like Morgans. It gives off that appearance tho. Maybe someone pushing it into an album. Very cool look to it!
These are the kinds of Red Lincoln's I love. Technically I don't think it is a 65, but with those colors and luster I don't care.
Where do you find your spot free toned coppers at? All the toners I find have those nasty black spots...
I like it, but I would sooner go with a 65 than I would RED. My guesstimate is that coin is only 60% red.
I doubt it. It's in one or the newer edge view holders. It's possible it may previously been in an older holder and reholdered after several years. I have some proof Lincoln's with colorful toning that also received the RD designation after I submitted them raw.
WOW!! Thanks for posting this. I haven't received the coins I posted pictures of but I will post the links to the auctions I won. I think someone has some splainin to do LUCY.http://www.ebay.com/itm/fantastic-B...222RbS7WyV1%2F4ZFozgw%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brilliant-R...222RbS7WyV1%2F4ZFozgw%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc I didn't bid much because the seller was new I was shocked to even them, I appreciate the links. Both coins show to have been shipped. Believe me I'm not naive and I know that when it appears to good to be true, well you know where I'm going. I will let you know how this plays out, and I appreciate the replies. Either way I have buyer protection with PayPal and its less than $10 total for all so I'm not worried about going hungry if I'm out the money it's the principle of the thing now. Thanks again this is just another reason I love CT.
Very interesting. Of these, I'd say only the first one deserves RD according to PCGS's published standards (which allow for some "mellowing" of the RD color). The last one is an absolute head scratcher; you'd think a coin like that would be the picture they used to define RB.
I was shocked at the results, especially concerning the 1969-S. Since I only collect these for the colorful toning the designation doesn't really bother me. I would rather have a colorful BN than RD any day.
Here is your 60-D http://www.ebay.com/itm/1960-D-SD-Lincoln-Cent-PCGS-MS65RB-Super-Rainbow-Album-Toned-Colorful-Toning-/351459293126?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51d49b37c6&nma=true&si=9v9Tcbi0OWgRGXdHw374S2U3UjU%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 That is kryptonitecomics. Maybe he will see it here.
I was hoping the same thing. I already contacted the seller this morning now I will just wait and see. The auction looked legit I just figured since he was a new seller they might have been overlooked for some reason. I assure everyone I had no intention of being part of a fraud. I am also surprised I didn't see the coin listed on kryptonitecomics because I look at his stuff pretty often. This is embarrassing to an extent even though I know why.
It'll never happen the two coins were sold or are for sale right now by reputable dealers. I'm just waiting to see how it plays out. If I haven't received them in 5 days of the ship date I will open a case not just of INR but also fraud. In fact this could be mail fraud if the seller sends items other than those listed when in fact he never had said items. It's just a few bucks for me but not looking good for him or her regardless of how it turns out.
I hope you noticed that the seller only has 1 feedback. I know who bought the 1960-D from Shane's auction. Hopefully he will respond here later. I think your chances are dim you will get anything close to what you're hoping to get. I hope I'm wrong........I know you won't be getting that 1960-D.
Did you read the bottom portion of his auction? It looks like you may not even get the date of the coin you bought. Beautiful rainbow toned Lincoln Cent! You will receive a coin like the one pictured with a different date too. I have several gorgeous cents available via ebay auction. If you have any questions please ask! =) Thank You!!
