    Hey guys,
It might not necessarily be an ancient coin but I don't know anybody from the World Forum..
How can i find any referrence on this coin ? Like the purity of gold or how many were minted..etc.
I have yet to find stable online resources to look up (possible) purchases..

The gold purity is rather irrelevant unless you plan to melt it down but around 90% is a safe assumption, and over the last 900 years most will have been recycled as something else so the original mintage (which must have been small by modern standards) is equally irrelevant.

I'm not an expert on the coins of Norman Italy, but I do know a bit about the Norman Kingdom of Sicily - I would expect their coins were copying Muslim issues of the same time period, and are likely the same composition if you can find figures on those. I know the Cambridge series on medieval coins has done a volume on Italian coins, but I'm not sure if they are southern Italian coins or not (I'm on vacation at the moment, so it's hard for me to look these things up). I would love to have a nice Roger II coin in my own collection though!
