This may be my son's Christmas Gift. Or not. He told me he wanted a Silver coin with an American Indian on it. What do you think? I like the toning, but curious about the marking on the lower obverse. Does anyone find it distracting? The Reverse is slightly off center. What grade do you think it is. I chose the 1928 because of the lower mintage, 6,028 compared to the more common 1926s with a mintage of 83,055. Whatever you think of the grade, I purchased this for a little over $200.

Should I give him this one or my 1926s AU58, which I really like, and keep the new one. BTW, I love my son but he doesn't love coins the same as I do.

I say 63 as well. I think the 28 is probably a nicer coin, but if your son doesn't care for coins, I'd keep them both and give him a present he'd really like. :)

Is that PVC damage on the obverse , looks like it to me . I'd pass on this one and get a nicer one as there are plenty of these around that are quite nice and reasonable . I'd say if that isn't PVC damage and it does grade it's a low 63 . IMHO .

Sorry didn't see the bottom coin , I'd give him that one . If he likes coins he should like that one .

Nice toning and good features. Since you already bought it, it's yours. Keep it. If your son, who does not like coins, wants a coin with an Indian on it, but him a 1 oz. silver round with the Indian. He gets what he wants, you spend less and it'll go up in value, sometime in the future.

Didn't say he dosen't like them, he just dosen't have the passion like I do. Looking for something to enhance his appreciation. Buy why give him this

All of which he might end up with someday anyway.

I think my wife ended the debate last night. She told me that since I purchased the 1928 with the intention of giving to him that I had to stick with that decision. That if I gave him the 1926 I was choosing the coin over my son. Smart woman.

Beautiful coin and a decent price to have and hold. :) Hope your son enjoys his gift.

Nice coin. I am not into the classic comms, but I always drool over this design in particular.

When collectivity is disregarded, either directly or indirectly--it is surely lost.
