Is this worth $130 or is he/she/it asking too much ?

You could most likely get a much nicer raw example of the type for the same price or a little more(based on recent auctions) if you were patient. I doubt you'd find a nicer slabbed example for the price though.

I'd pay it , but I'm mostly a US collector . I wish it had a little more patina on it though . Nice coin .

Doesn't seem like a bad deal to me.

For being slabbed I think it's a fair deal.

Nice coin, but too much IMHO? About 40% too high.

The real question here is, do you want this specific coin, or do you want a nice representation of the Dioscuri on an RR denarius? Because Bing is right, you're going to be overpaying for the slab, on a coin that's only grades F. (It is a nice coin - don't get me wrong.)

Here is a page of RR Dioscuri denarii on vcoins. I'd shop around a bit more if I were you.

Well, from JA's vcoins-link (above), your $130 asking price isn't too bad (especially if you're a fan of those nasty plastic cases) ...

Oh, and here is a CNG-link (I love checking this coin-reference site as well)

    https://cngcoins.com/Search.aspx?PAGE_NUM=&PAGE=1&TABS_TYPE=2&CONTAINER_TYPE_ID=1&IS_ADVANCED=1&ITEM_DESC=c scribonius Dioscuri denarius&ITEM_IS_SOLD=1&SEARCH_IN_CONTAINER_TYPE_ID_1=1&SEARCH_IN_CONTAINER_TYPE_ID_3=1&SEARCH_IN_CONTAINER_TYPE_ID_2=1

So, from the CNG-link => your coin fits into the mix somewhere (may not be the world's best buy, but certainly not a total rip-off)

... but, for twice the money I like both of these vcoins-offerings more than twice as much as I like your coin:

... but I'm a fool (ummm, there may be a saying in there somewhere?)

    ;)

Man, I love the "ass" behind Roma's head on that 2nd coin!! (JA, please don't post links to available coins ... I'm an addict!!)

I agree with the consensus: It's a very nice denarius, but a tad over-priced for the grade; examples at VF+ are always offered or won at auction, for about the same price---usually raw and even slabbed. And, there's the additional cost of shipping and/or buyers fees to account for.

I agree. Its not a rare or really terribly demanded type. The slabbed coin is not great. Unless you REALLY wanted that particular type I would wait. Frank Robinson many times has similar quality generic RR for $30-40.

Ben Stiller movie, though Robert Downey JR stole it as a white Australian actor portraying an African American US Vietnam soldier. Tongue in cheek, stupid comedy most of the world makes fun of us for. I love it. :)

No it's been out for a while. When you have nothing better to do get a glass of your preferred and kill some time. I think you'll appreciate the humor.

    On topic...@tobaisk wants graded coins.

I like the coin, if you like it make a offer, all they will say is no. very few will turn down a fair offer.:)
