Neat! Looks like 1840 and 1844 are both about equally rare, right? Also, nice half dime and half dollar!
Both dates are rare, but in turn, each of them has a rare more that other one. "5 Centecimos" exists in both years, but 1840 is more rarely and costly. "20 Centecimos" equal situation, but it is more rare and costly 1844.
Since the Dansco 7070 album has been out of print for so long and I don't when, if ever, it is coming back, I just purchased the Intercept Shield Type Set album. It looks like an upgraded version of the Dansco. It just arrived at my PO Box and I can't wait to get it. The only drawback is that Wizard Coin Supply warns the hole for the braided hair cent was made too small, so I'll have to Dremel the hole wider to get it to fit. Not a big deal.
New added ! My first Trade Dollar ! Well, i got this a few days ago. It clearly has issues and not the best condition, but I still like it. Comments are welcome!
I have a problem with my 7070 album. I have the gold page for my album but, I bought a gold $2 1/2 piece for it and the hole for the coin is too large.
I am working on my Intercept Shield Type Set now, since you can't find the Danscos anymore. Getting my "easier" clad coins first and working my way back. Nice hit on that Trade Dollar. I love those things.
This set has been sleeping for a long time, now there is a new coin. This time, a 1804 Half Cent, crosslet 4 - stems. Grade?
I didn't have that problem when I had my gold, but I don't have them anymore. Sold all the gold from my page. Maybe later on when I have more dough, then I might buy them back.
Looks VG08 to me. I'm wondering about the color, though... it looks a little off, but maybe it's just the picture.
The 7070 type set looks like a lot of fun. Look forward to watching your progress to the finish line.
I love type sets! This one looks a lot of fun. I hope you can complete it soon. Mine doesn't go back as far, but I have the 8 basic gold types, and even the 4 piece platinum set in mine, along with more than 100 other types. Sorry I'm not knowledgeable enough about computers to photo copy it for this site. I would love to, though.
