HUU, that mentions a 3D model, not 3D printing

You might be able to get around the insurance problem by enclosing the bottom portion of the press in a clear plastic housing so people can't get their hands close to the dies. You would have to work up a device that could slide through a slot in the housing to place the planchet on the lower die and to push it off after striking. You would also need to get rid of that vertical bar attached to the flywheel as well.

The rocker press is a grown up penny roller, in esence. It's just that most of the rolling cylinders have been cut away and it is actuated away from the axis of rotation.

If you gain any desire toward the hammer option at quarter-size or less, I can help.

The rocker press can also operate at a lower pressure because it is just impressing the design into the planchet and not rolling it out thinner. So in a sense it is a junior version of the penny roller. But you are right they do operate on the same principle.

OK, I googled "rocker press minting" and found out what it is and what it looks like.

BUT - where can you buy one...???
